PE firms do invest pension fund money, as well. However, pension funds such as CalPERS are very very heavy investors in venture capital.

Hi Benjamin. I'm a co-founder of a company in Silicon Valley called myJoblinx, a startup developing the next generation of social recruiting solutions on Facebook. We were one of the handful companies selected to attend LAVA's Meet the VCs event. I'm looking forward to it and I do appreciate your recommendation. All the best.

Ben,

It's very simple. You write stories as if their fact but you don't fact check. There's nothing rabid about that. The conversation Ben is referring to is the following:

From: Mark Douglas
Date: Tue, 27 Sep 2011 17:57:16 -0400
To: "Benjamin F. Kuo"
Subject: Re: You're Always Wrong

I meant what I said and don't write me again. My email was a one way conversation.

Mark

Mark,

I'll ignore those first few letters. Respectfully, I'd love to cover you-- we're very supportive of the Southern California technology community and have a very close relationship with many of your investors. On this story, we had to go with what was available in the reg filings due to time constraints, but if there is any information we've gotten wrong please correct us as we'd like to get the story straight. We'd even love to do a Q&A at some point.

Thank you,

Benjamin Kuo

This has given me something truly new to think about. I can't say that often. I think you're right that there is just no way to be judged on your thoughts alone--by ALL readers--if they see your picture or know your background. I won't try to say when and where that's a good or bad thing, but it's true and it's worth considering as more of our lives move online.

Ever find a picture of a radio personality for the first time? Didn't that change things?

Thank you for your commentary, Ben. We don't see this point of view often anymore. People are most often saying its about transparency and then authenticity. Transparency totally blows anonymity. However, authenticity can shine through even when someone prefers to be anonymous.
