Dropping Google+ Buttons, For Now

Well, that was quick. We’re dropping our Google+ buttons on our news stories, for the meantime (we just added them in July), because we found that including the Google+ button was actually decreasing the amount of social commenting on other sites–such as Facebook–on our stories, even as it failed to gain any interest in Google+. I’m not sure if it’s because few of our readers use Google+, if the design of the Google+ button was causing issues, or what. Anyway, if anyone REALLY wants them back, comment below.
