If the $11,000 wrapped in bacon at Scopely, or $5,000 for a new hire at BetterWorks isn’t enough to convince you that the tech hiring market is going gangbusters, how about an all expenses, round trip flight to LA, limo and date with an attractive actress or actor to join a startup as an engineer? It looks like a Silicon Valley startup, Zoosk thinks you can’t get a decent date in Silicon Valley, and is instead sending new hires down here for dates with a couple of actors/actresses from its commercials. You might, however, take my alternative suggestion: instead of a one shot date, just join one of the many local startups hiring in LA and eager for engineers — either on the Westside or at the various beach cities — and make it a habit to go on dates with the tons of actors/actresses/wanna be actors/actresses who seem to populate this town.
