Housekeeping: Security Reminder
Hello all — this is a reminder to all of our users, in particular due to a sudden rise in hacking activity (Gawker, McDonald’s, Walgreens) and ongoing, occasional suspicious activity on our own sites, to make sure to follow prudent password and security practices — namely, not using simple passwords on any site; changing your password frequently; not using the same password between sites; and protecting your login information. We’d suggest if you do use a simple password–or have used your login to our sites on any other site–to reset it now (using our “change password” function); you can also always request a new (fairly strong) password in our login screen.
In particular, for the number of our users who may also have used Gawker’s various sites, we’d suggest you reset your password (you can do so here) as a security precaution.
