Tech Book Tour Week in LA: Do More Faster, Funny Kittehs
It looks to be technology-entrepreneur-startup book tour week in Los Angeles, as at least two different events are lined up this week to promote books from well known technology entrepreneurs.
On Thursday (tomorrow), Brad Feld and David Cohen of TechStars are on tour promoting their new book Do More Faster, a book talking about lots of the lessons they’ve learned in running TechStars and their involvement with a number of successful startups. For those not familiar with TechStars, it’s the business incubation effort in Boulder, Colorado, which has made a name for Boulder as a “Startup” town by attracting and helping to mentor, fund, and launch a significant number of startups. Feld is also a very closely followed venture capital blogger and fixture at startup conferences.
Next Monday, Ben Huh — the head of I Can Haz Cheezburger, that ubiquitous funny-saying-with-kitty site (plus an empire of other similar, meme-driven sites)– is on his own book tour, promoting the Teh Itteh Bitteh Book of Kittehs release. Huh build what is the most improbable site (a site with mispelled funny sayings overlaid on pictures of kittens in funny poses) into a huge viral business, and is often sought after for his insight into the world of web culture.
One of the fortunate things for local entrepreneurs here, is because Los Angeles is such a big market, we get a chance to often interact with people from other areas with such great startup and entrepreneurial credentials. Both of the above are great opportunities!
