Two signs that Twitter is now in the marketing mainstream
You know Twitter (the micro messaging service) has now hit the marketing mainstream, when you are getting marketing emails from fast food chains about following them on Twitter. I just got a marketing email from Rubio’s trying to drum up followers using the lure of free food. It’s one thing when tech retailers (ie. Buy.com ran a very-short-lived “Tweet and Seek” giveaway yesterday) run these promotions, but when a fast food chain where I bet — at least in my neighborhood — probably maybe 1 out of the last 500 customers that came in their door knows what Twitter is, much less actually uses the service?
