Southern California: Sports startup central
March 18th, 2009 by Benjamin KuoMaybe it’s because of the upcoming NCAA tournaments, or maybe it’s just because of Southern California’s great weather–but looking over some of our recent coverage it seems like we’re developing quite the list of sports related companies:
- RotoHog.com – fantasy sports games
- KlickSports – sports prediction games
- RazorGator - sports and entertainment tickets
- Break.com, with its All Left Turns site – NASCAR
- Active Network – sports registration services
- ActionAllStars.com – sports themed virtual worlds
- Jacked.com – second screen sports information services
- Loop’d Network – athletic sponsorships and videos
- Tickets.com – ticketing, including sports
- Demand Media’s Livestrong.com site, with Lance Armstrong
- OleOle.com – focused on soccer
- MaxxAthlete.com – broadband network for youth sports
There’s probably more, but it seems like there are more than just a handful here.
