Note to SoCal startups: do not–I repeat–do not attempt launch your company on the same day as every other startup in the world, which appears to be today with both DEMOfall and TechCrunch 50.

DEMOfall has 72 companies launching, and TechCrunch50 has 52 (?). It’s awfully tough to whittle through the huge pile of companies to find those relevant to folks here in Southern California.

Those I’ve seen so far launching: Burbank-based Qtask; Santa Barbara-based Green Sherpa; San Diego-based Enterprise Informatics (all at DEMO), plus Los Angeles-based CauseCast at TechCrunch50.

The biggest winner, so far — is DocStoc, which isn’t launching, but which is hosting the “official” PDF event guide to TechCrunch50, and must be seeing a lot of “link juice” and traffic.
