You're description of the LA environment is right on. I can't tell you how many frustrated entrepreneurs we meet that hear about the billions of investment capital sitting out there but don't know the first step at trying to access it. The groups you mention are doing an excellent job closing the gap, but it will likely take a while before we can develop the same sort of ecosystem that exists in Silicon Valley -- one where a potential investor is one easy introduction away from every engineer. One more generation of successful tech companies and the inevitable spinout of talent and capital will get us much closer. Great post, Ben. You’re description of the LA environment is right on. What's great about Lunch is that it brings in people with families who can't stay out all night. I also like that it has a clear beginning and end.
